Jock Tamsons Gairden Project

Opportunity image

If you have an interest in being outdoors and pottering around completing light gardening duties in the beauty of nature , then you could be who we're looking for.

We share a small community plot at Jock Tamsons Gairden that needs support to get it ready for our Active Communities participants to come and sit, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature or maybe take a gentle stroll around the garden, or help with a wee bit of gardening themselves.

Your role would be working with other volunteers to help tidy the plot and keep it ticking over all year round (weather permitting) to ensure it is a welcoming and relaxing area for people to visit.

There will be guidance and instruction from our volunteer team that oversees the project.

Volunteer hours will be decided depending on your availability. Volunteers will be asked to commit to the same hours each week as agreed. We ask for a minimum of 2 hours per week for at least 6 months.

Volunteers will be required to undertake a Disclosure Police Act Check. The purpose of this is to safeguard volunteers and service users from harm.

Having a criminal record will not automatically prevent you from volunteering. Rather, cases will be treated on an individual basis.
